MEET DR. CHRISTINE A. MARRACCINI
Dr. Christine A. Marraccini is described by her patients as being selfless and kind. Dr. Marraccini, a board certified OB/GYN, believes that getting the necessary education in prenatal health and breastfeeding can help new mothers make the best decisions for themselves and their families. She worked with HumanKind to launch a Healthy Families program for Central Virginia, which helps mothers from pregnancy through the child’s fifth birthday. She also works with The Motherhood Collective to teach options to manage natural labor, believing that unmedicated birth is an empowering experience. In addition to her OB patients, her surgical schedule keeps her busy. She remains on the cutting edge in providing minimally invasive surgical options with robotic and laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Marraccini understands the busy lives of women cannot easily be put on hold and a shorter, less painful recovery time is preferred.
The mom to four children, she can be found on the sidelines and in the bleachers of school activities and games. In her free time, she enjoys running and exercising with friends. She and her husband Joe moved to Lynchburg in 1999 and are avid Hokie fans.
